MEET THE OWNER

Welcome! I am Rebecca Woodward, LCSW-C, RMT, founder of Ancestral Roots Reiki. I am a Mental Health Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher, Multidimensional Healer and Channel.

My passion for helping others initially led to a committed career in social work as a mental health therapist. I have been in the human services profession for over 10 years working within a wide variety of settings and ages. Five of those years were spent running a jail-based addiction treatment program.

In all my endeavors, I noticed a common running root theme underneath diagnoses: Trauma. I consider myself a trauma-focused therapist as it serves as the lens through which I provide mental and emotional health treatment and healing.

The more I learned about how trauma impacts our brains and bodies, the more I realized how limiting talk therapy can be when used independently. My clinical therapy approaches include somatic treatments that help promote brain/body connection such as Brainspotting.

My search for further ways to address unprocessed trauma led me to explore the field of energy work. I have always been drawn to energy healing and in 2023 pursued my Reiki 2 Certification. Thinking I would just be adding another "tool to my toolbox," my certification quickly turned into a year-long mentorship program for multidimensional energy healing.
